Bio:
Before boot camp, I thought I knew everything about it. When I stepped on those yellow footprints I knew I thought wrong. What I would learn in recruit training (honor, courage, commitment)among other things, would change my life in the most positive way. I never thought three months could challenge a man so distinctively. But the drill instructors are determined. It is the difficult times that transform a civilian into a United States Marine. The third week of second phase, field week, time to start the “real stuff”. It was the hardest week for me. Its cold, rainy, muddy, and miserable. No one cares that your cold or wet, you are told what you are told to do, and that is it. My company (alpha company) didn’t believe in hooches (tents). So we slept “under the stars and cuddled with water”, as one drill instructor so kindly put it. That week really shaded a lot of us.
I was born in Joplin, MO on Nov 5th 1990. In middle school I developed a strong urge to be in the Marine Corps. Mainly because of 9/11. It made me angry. Out of high school I took a good job. Kind of forgot about the Marines until one day I realized I hated sitting behind a desk. I wanted a challenge. I went to boot camp in August 31st 2010 and came out with a job field related to motor transportation, more specifically a Military Occupational Specialty of 3521 Organizational Automotive Mechanic.
